In just five years, Alexandre Benjamin Navet has come to the fore in the world of decorative arts: people could well be surprised by his unique take on the world, yet a path has been opened whereby the object, painting and architecture are seen as a whole and reinvented by the artist’s bold hatched lines and his vibrant, frank colors.
From this meeting between Alexandre Benjamin Navet and Codimat Collection, a first creation was made for Art Brussels in 2019: a decorative floor, a vivid and colorful transfiguration of a chevron-patterned parquet, on which a carpet was laid.
Subsequently, this new collection of rugs and carpet tiles was created, inventing a new, playful relationship between textile coverings and the floor itself: these versatile floor tiles can be seen and treated as a mosaic, allowing the creation of a number of fresh, surprising juxtapositions, a movable feast! Placing a motif where it is not expected will thus give a new dimension to the room as a whole.
